1 - Customer Service Apprenticeships Level 2
Prior qualifications needed
Entry Level 3 in English and Maths.
Various starts throughout the year.
What will I learn?
This course will provide you with the opportunity to develop and refine your customer skills for use in a variety of working environments e.g. Retail, Hospitality, Care work, Administration etc. In addition to that you will learn OCR Functional Skills English and Maths at Level 1 and Technical/Underpinning knowledge Certificate in Customer Services.
You will spend one day a week in training here at the Centre building up your skills and developing your portfolio and at least 2 days with an employer.
Whilst in training and at work you will develop an understanding of areas including: meeting and greeting visitors, record keeping, problem solving, dealing with customers and service delivery.
How will I be taught?
Group activities, 1-1’s with your Tutor and Assessor.
How will I be assessed?
The Apprenticeship consists of several parts each assessed in their own way. Portfolio building, showing evidence of what you know, understand and can do. This is largely completed in your work place and is your responsibility to build up over the course of the Apprenticeship. Assessors will work with you on one to one basis to support your assessments by observations and discussions with you in your work place.

Progress to L2 or L3 Business Administration, Level 3 Customer Services.
2 - Business Administration Apprenticeships Level 2

In addition to that you will learn OCR Functional skills English and Maths at Level 1 and Technical/Underpinning Certificate in Business Administration.

3 - QCF NVQ Diploma In Health And Social Care Level 2
Overview
The QCF NVQ Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 2 is a nationally recognised qualification based on the Health and Social Care National Occupation Standards approved by Skills for Care & Development. The award will confirm knowledge, skills and competence for individuals working with adults and children across all social care settings, such as within residential settings, primary care environments, domiciliary services, day services and supported living.
Outline of Programme
Each unit within the Diploma has a credit rating and to achieve the QCF NVQ Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 2 learners must complete 9 mandatory units along with a choice of 9 optional knowledge and competence units equaling an overall 46 credit.
Mandatory Units
• Unit 1: Introduction to Communication in Health & Social Care Settings.
• Unit 2: Introduction to Personal Development in Health & Social Care Settings.
• Unit 3: Introduction to Equality and Inclusion in Health & Social Care Settings.
• Unit 4: Introduction to Duty of Care in Health & Social Care Settings.
• Unit 5: Principles of Safeguarding and Protection in Health & Social Care Settings.
• Unit 6: The Role of the Health & Social Care Worker.
• Unit 7: Implement Person-Centred Approaches in Health & Social Care Settings.
• Unit 8: Contribute to Health & Safety in Health & Social Care.
• Unit 9: Handle Information in Health & Social Care Settings.
The optional knowledge and competence units cover different areas of health and social care such as supporting those with disabilities, learning disabilities or dementia, individuals working with children and young people, infection control and supported living. Learners have the opportunities to take a general qualification in health and social care, or they may follow a specialist pathway in areas such as Dementia or Learning Disabilities.
Optional units for people working in residential care or nursing homes
Dementia awareness- Dem 201 – 2 credits.
Understand and implement a person centered approach to the care and support of individuals with dementia – Dem 204 – 3 credits.
Equality, diversity, and inclusion in dementia care practice – 3 credits.
Understand and enable interaction and communication with individuals with dementia – 3 credits.
Approaches to enable rights and choices for individuals with dementia whilist minimizing risks – 2 credits.
Provide support for mobility – 2 credits.
Support care plan activities – 2 credits.
Support individuals to meet personal care needs – 2 credits.
Prepare environments and resources for use during health care activities – 3 credits.
Total credits = 22
Optional units for people working in domiciliary care
Principles of infection prevention and control – 3 credits.
Support individuals to access and use information about services and facilities – 3 credits.
Meet food safety requirements when providing food and drink for individuals – 2 credits.
Contribute to the support of positive risk taking for individuals- 3 credits.
Support individuals to live at home – 4 credits.
Support individuals to meet personal care needs – 2 credits.
Dementia awareness- Dem 201 – 2 credits.
Equality, diversity, and inclusion in dementia care practice – 3 credits.
Total credits = 22
Assessment:
Assessment takes place through evaluation of work-based performance, presenting evidence, witness testimony and questioning. A portfolio of evidence is produced which demonstrates that the candidate can perform to the level described. Participants will all have a vocationally competent QCF NVQ Diploma assessor who will help assemble the portfolio and prepare for assessment. In addition the candidates will have access to email and telephone support throughout their QCF NVQ Diploma programme together with resources as required.
Entry Requirements:
The course is open to candidates at any age, of either gender and there are no entry barriers on the grounds of race, creed or academic attainment in learning. However, candidates must be employed in a workplace relevant to the occupational standards for Health and Social Care to enable them to complete the qualification successfully.
How long will it take?
There are no fixed periods for completion, however depending on experience most participants complete within 6-9 months.
Progression
On completion of this program candidates are able to progress on QCF NVQ Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 3.
